Tia Newcomer, Director, US Shopper Marketing, HP

Tia brings more than 15 years of experience in the consumer packaged goods industry to her current role as Director of Americas Shopper Marketing.

Tia leads country marketing for the Americas with an emphasis on U.S. retail and outbound sales motions in support of HP’s computing and printing $15 Billion retail business. Her team leads the development of HP’s shopper marketing and ROMI capabilities, representing an unchartered frontier in consumer IT and the next innovation in how HP goes to market with retail partners.

In this role, Tia has led HP through a marketing transformation that positions HP as the leader in shopper marketing in the consumer electronics space. She was recently selected one of seven Shopper Marketing magazine’s 2010 “People to Watch” in addition to “Who’s Who in Shopper Marketing” for 2009.  Tia is a founding member of the Retail Commission on Shopper Marketing, representing one of twelve strategic advisor companies and is regularly invited to industry forums to speak as an expert in her field.

Tia has passion for the business and people which translates into significant growth results at top retailers. She is a collaborator with Senior Management on planning and strategy at top ranked Fortune 500 customers such as: Wal-Mart Inc. (#2), Kroger (#22), Costco (#24), Target (#28), Albertsons (#35), Safeway (#50), Best Buy (#56), Staples (#109), Office Depot (#179) and OfficeMax (#313).

Prior to joining HP, Tia held sales, marketing and category management positions at Frito Lay, Clorox and Revlon Inc. She holds a BA in Journalism and Mass Communications from the University of Nebraska.
