Data Mediation, Analytics and the Mobile Marketing Ecosystem

The recent increase in mobile internet usage fueled by smartphones, netbooks, data cards and other internet-ready devices has led to massive amounts of data flowing through a mobile operator’s network – data that should lead to information about consumer habits which would lead to better decisions and higher ROI for players in the mobile marketing eco-system. Yet this wealth of information remains largely untapped with no clear method for translating the raw data into deeper, actionable insights.

The goal of this workshop is to examine the process of spinning marketing gold from the volumes of user data on a carrier’s network. We will focus on the continuous loop of analysis-learning-action, and apply it to building brand awareness across the customer life cycle.

Panel: Carrier and User Data – Refining the Most Precious Commodity of the Digital Age

As mobile internet traffic grows exponentially, so too does the mobile subscriber data associated with it and the potential to realize significant commercial benefits from extracting and refining this data. Carriers, being the gatekeepers of these vast reservoirs of subscriber interactions and communications have an incredible opportunity, to transform their businesses by providing access to their data through Open API’s as well as mobile audience metrics on every piece of relevant data for advertisers, content publishers and application developers. In so doing, not only will carriers enable new dynamic business models, but facilitate insights into the real-time behaviors and intentions of subscribers with the wider ecosystem.
